Café of Opportunities
event took center stage at
SM City Dasmariñas. Organized by TESDA Cavite
in partnership with the
Provincial Government of
Cavite through the Office
of the Provincial Public
Employment Service Manager, local government of
the City of Dasmariñas
and the Association of
Cavite Training Institutions
and Vocational Educators,
Inc. (ACTIVE). The event
breathed new life into the
traditional job fair concept.
Shifting away
from the traditional approach, the event embraced a more interactive
and dynamic format. Inspired by the ambiance
of a café, job seekers
engaged in meaningful
conversations with representatives from various
industries. This setting
encouraged authentic dialogue, allowing attendees
to glean insights into potential career paths, company cultures, and skill
requirements.
The collaboration
between TESDA Cavite
and its partners presented a united front in the
fight against unemployment and professional
advancement. The existence of ACTIVE emphasized the significance of
skill development in tandem with job placement.
The event, which drew
448 applicants, resulted
in 171 on-the-spot hires.
These immediate placements demonstrated the
World Café approach’s effectiveness in quickly and
efficiently connecting the
right individuals with the
right employers.
