He led the Magdalo faction of the Katipunan, and at the onset of the Pact of Biak-na-Bato and Constitution of Biak-na-Bato, Baldomero was given the task of being auditor general and cabinet minister. He was also the Secretary of Finance, Minister of National Defense, and the Secretary of War and Public Works during the First Philippine Republic in 1899. Despite holding office titles, General Baldomero Aguinaldo was also fearless in the field of battle during the outbreak of the Philippine-American war. While remembered best as the first cousin of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, he also helped Philippine Revolution veterans in various ways as the president of the Asociación de los Veteranos de la Revolución. Gen. Baldomero Aguinaldo breathed his last on 21 February 1915 due to heart failure.
