The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) kicked off on Friday, February 27, the South Luzon leg of its 2026 Regional Tax Campaign at the Jose Rizal Coliseum in Calamba City, Laguna.
It gathered more than 3,200 attendees composed of BIR officials and personnel, stakeholders, and partners from various sectors.
Commissioner Charlie Mendoza said the campaign and the regional kick off is a part of the BIRโs commitment to the South Luzon cluster.
โHere in the South Luzon Cluster, a dynamic and expanding business sector, paired with sound and credible tax administration, strengthens the foundations of economic growth,” he said.
The BIR also named actor Alden Richards as the 2025 Most Valuable Taxpayer during the program.
โThis award is not just a personal achievement. It’s reminder of our shared responsibility as a citizen of this country. I believe paying the right taxes is more than just a legal obligation โ it is a commitment to nation building,โ said Richards.
Similar cluster kickoffs will continue in the Visayas and North Luzon this March as part of the nationwide rollout of the BIRโs 2026 Tax Campaign.
