
CALAMBA CITY, Laguna (PIA) — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Calabarzon has signed new partnership agreements to strengthen the implementation of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the region.
According to DSWD Field Office IV-A, four new partners namely: the Global Peace Foundation, Joy-Nostalg Foundation, Fast Logistics Group, and Quezon National Agricultural School signed an agreement with the agency on October 27 to help improve the lives of 4Ps beneficiaries.
“As part of the partnership agreement with the DSWD, all these partners target to provide different interventions addressing the needs of 4Ps households and communities in their respective areas of coverage,” DSWD IV-A said in a statement.
Fast Logistics Group and Quezon National Agricultural School will focus on providing livelihood support through job fairs, employment help, and skills training.
Meanwhile, the Global Peace Foundation and Joy-Nostalg Foundation will offer community-based projects such as installing solar and street lights in off-grid communities (Global Peace Foundation) and holding sessions on responsible homeownership and financial literacy (Joy-Nostalg Foundation).
To date, there are 44 external stakeholders, including civil society organizations, non-government organizations, academic institutions, and private sectors, which have existing partnerships with the DSWD Field Office IV-A.
“These partners work together with the DSWD in addressing gaps hampering the improvement of the level of wellbeing of 4Ps beneficiaries in the region,” the agency stated.
According to DSWD IV-A, there are about 309,000 active 4Ps beneficiaries in Calabarzon receiving health, education, and financial assistance to help improve their quality of life. (DSWD 4A/PIA4A)
