Santa Cruz, Laguna โ The Department of
Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna Provincial Office, in
partnership with the Provincial Government of Laguna,
organized a โDTI Bagwis Summitโ at the Cultural Center, Provincial Capitol Compound, Santa Cruz, Laguna,
on May 17, 2023. There were around 250 participants
(mostly Bagwis Awardees) present in the said gathering.
This summit was graced by Laguna Provincial
Administrator Atty. Dulce H. Rebanal who gave a wel
come remarks, DTI Regional Operations Group
Undersecretary Blesila A.
Lantayona and DTI Region 4A OIC Regional Director Marissa C. Argente
who both delivered their
respective inspirational
messages, and DTI Laguna OIC Provincial Director
Christian Ted O. Tungohan
who ended the program
with his closing remarks.
This summit
served as venue and opportunity for the DTI Laguna and the Provincial
Government of Laguna to
perform the following:
1.Launch the Online Reporting System
for the DTI Bagwis
Awardees (this system
will make it easier for the
DTI Laguna and the Bagwis Awardees to have the
monthly reports, specifically on the Consumer
Welfare Desks);
- Award the DTI
Bagwis Seals of Excellence to the qualified establishments; - Provide a Seminar on Empowering Customer Relations to become
drivers of Best Customer
Experience; and - Provide an update regarding the said
program.
The DTI Bagwis
is one of the programs of
the Department of Trade
and Industry, which aims
to promote consumer protection. It recognizes business establishments for
their excellence in upholding the rights and welfare
of consumers and practicing responsible business.
The seals of excellence
being given to the qualified establishments serve
as guide to consumers in
availing safe, quality and
reasonably priced products and services to get the best value for theirmoney. Laguna has themost number of Bagwis Awardees in the Region4A comprising 41% or 230out of 566 seals. Likewise,DTI 4A has received an award for having the most number of DTI Gold Bagwis Seals of Excellence for three (3) consecutive years, where the province of Laguna contributed the most number of Gold seals in the region. DTI will continue to advocate the programs with regard to customer service excellence like this DTI Bagwis Program to benefit more the consumers. Furthermore, we look forward to more Bagwis Awardees in the province of Laguna and in the Philippines as a whole to be able to provide better consumer protection (DTI-Laguna). PR
