
In commemoration for the National Arts Month, the Alitaptap Artist Community spearheaded the celebration of a 5-day Pista ng Sining on February 21-25, 2023, highlighting the 1st Pilipinas Art Camp in Cavite.
The program officially started with a ceremonial ritual prayer performed by the artist from Kalinga Apayao expressing gratitude for the given opportunity, to collaborate, unite and succeed without any hindrance.
Guests and visitors from Baguio Creative City composed of Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, visual artists and the Cordillera traditional tattoo artist were welcomed by Ms. Jennylene Manuel of the Alitaptap Artist Community. Also present during the event were DTI staff from Baguio and Benguet, local artists from Ilocos Sur and Boracay.
Alitaptap Artists Community is located in Barangaqy Halang, Amadeo, Cavite where group of artists live, create and exhibit paintings and arts.
Amadeo Mayor Redel John Dionisio, Vice Governor Athena Bryana Tolentino and Board Member Irene Bencito also took part in the celebration of Pista ng Sining, expressing their all-out support for the local artist. Governor Jonvic Remulla was also in attendance and left a message, saying that artists will always have a home in Cavite and wished the best for the community.
The Baguio artist shared an uplifting message and thanked the Alitaptap artist community for being an inspiration to them. They also showcased Baguioโs traditional and exceptional products that also served as souvenir.
Capping the event was a musical concert on the 25th of February which featured renowned artists like Joey Ayala, Lolita Carbon and Asin, and more. (Romelyn P. Dones)
