In marking the National Oral Health Month Celebration, the Department of Health-Center for Health and Development – CALABARZON teamed up with the Office of the Provincial Health Officer, ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya, Cavite Public Health Dentists and Dental Aide Association, and Local Government of Magallanes for another Oral Health Caravan, dubbed as โChikiting Sagipin, Unang Ngipinโ on February 21, 2024 at Barangay Ramirez, Magallanes, Cavite to bring good oral health care and practices to the forefront.
During the course of activity, Hon. Nila Perion, Barangay Ramirez Chairperson, Atty. Kristine Mangubat Abeleda, Municipal Administrator, and Dr. Jerikah Ann Vallesfin of Magallanes Municipal Health Office, showed their ardent appreciation to the technical team for bringing in their locality the much-needed health and dental services, especially in the underprivileged area.
The joint venture provided access to the dental needs of the residents, offering oral examination, dental cleaning, fluoride treatment and tooth extraction. More so, proper tooth brushing practices were demonstrated among the young ones.
Meanwhile, essential and prescribed medicines were distributed for free, to relieve the financial burden and meet the medication needs of the patients.
Other health services offered during the activity were family planning services and consultation, and implanon insertion; Disease Preventable Vaccines for children, including BCG, Hepatitis B, Pentavalent, Oral Polio, PCV, Measles Mumps Rubella, and Inactivated Polio vaccines; and Nutritional Supplements, like Deworming Tablet, Vitamin A, Drops, and Iron Folic Acid.
