
The Provincial Government of Caviteโs bid for the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance continues as it undergoes the regional assessment team validation on June 11, 2024 at the Ceremonial Hall of the Provincial Capitol in Trece Martires City.
Governor Jonvic Remulla led the PGC team as it showcased commitment to good governance and the unrelenting pursuit of excellence in public service. In his message, the governor enumerated the several groundbreaking projects in the pipeline including the new provincial capitol which is projected to be the first off-grid building once completed, the completion of CALAX, and the planned sanitary landfill project, among others, which are testament to the stride that the province is taking towards progress. โCavite is where the Philippines will be in the next ten yearsโ, he added.
The regional assessment team was headed by DILG CALABARZON Assistant Regional Director Darrell I. Dizon CESO V who stressed that the SGLG is the most prestigious award given by the department. He also recounted how it evolved through the years, from the Seal of Good Housekeeping in 2011 to its present scope, encompassing various governance areas โ Financial Administration and Sustainability, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection and Responsiveness, Sustainable Education, Business-friendliness and Competitiveness, Safety, Peace and Order, Environmental Management, Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts, and Youth Development.

Andres CESO V of DILG-Quezon, City Director Vilma De Torres of DILG-Lucena City, technical staff from the DILG Region IV-A including LGOO V Shazer Leo Ambas, LGOO VI Gilberto L. Tumamac, LGOO IV Mia Carla Ilang-ilang, LGOO III Charisse CElan Torio, LGOO III James Torres, and civil society organization representative, Atty. Eunice Jumalon of Tanggol Kalikasan, Inc.
The validation was done through document review and onsite visit. Feedbacks were then presented by the respective validators during the exit conference.
Engr. Danilo Nobleza, DILG-Cavite Director extended his gratitude to the members of the assessment team and the Cavite delegation for the successful conduct of the regional validation. In his closing message, Provincial Administrator Rodel Vincent T. Bae emphasized that service to the people is the core of PGCโs operation.
