On September 8, 2025, the Department of Science and Technology – Provincial S&T Office of Cavite (DOST Cavite), led by Provincial Director Gilda S. De Jesus, paid a courtesy call to the office of the newly elected mayor of Naic, Cavite, Hon. Rommel Anthony V. Magbitang.
This visit aimed to introduce DOST’s programs and services, as well as explore potential collaborations between the agency and the local government unit (LGU) to further enhance the municipality’s development.
During the meeting, Mayor Magbitang highlighted the urgent need for Science and Technology (S&T) interventions, particularly in the area of solid waste management. Recognizing the challenges faced by the community, the mayor emphasized that S&T solutions could play a pivotal role in addressing environmental concerns and improving waste management systems in Naic.
Both parties expressed optimism for a strengthened partnership, with DOST offering its support to help drive innovative and sustainable solutions for the municipality’s pressing issues.
